When Do I Need a Vehicle Inspection?

You may need to have your vehicle inspected at an Authorised Inspection Station (AIS) for several reasons. These include registering your vehicle in Western Australia, clearing a defect notice (often called a yellow sticker), approving vehicle modifications such as changes to the engine or body, or licensing a repairable written-off vehicle.

Some vehicles are also required to undergo an inspection each time registration is renewed. If this applies to your vehicle, you will receive a notification letter from the Department of Transport. If you are unsure whether your vehicle requires an inspection, we recommend contacting the Department of Transport on 13 11 56 for confirmation.

AIM Auto Centre is an Authorised Inspection Station (AIS) approved by the Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure.
